As a Product Development Engineer, you will serve as a key member on the Systems team to support and improve upon the initial product offering. This will be achieved through execution of design and development activities at the system and sub-system level: design and implementation of electrical (custom or OTS) components, characterization of system or sub-system performance against specifications, planning and developing test procedures and methods in support of design verification (inclusive of EMC and 60601 testing), and design or assist in design/revision to PCBAs.

Responsibilities

* Design/prototype/test custom electrical components or sub-systems

* Identify, design, develop, and execute in-house test methods to characterize performance of components or sub-systems

* Support manufacturing efforts through contract manufacturing partnerships

* Support system level design verification activities through protocol creation, test method development, data collection and report writing

* Hands on system level support/diagnostics of in-house development systems as well as a willingness to support clinically deployed systems (installation and service)

* Work closely with software development team to ensure successful SW/HW integration strategy

* Sourcing and selection of OTS components for system design and integration

* Provide production and lifecycle project level support including change orders to address design changes, obsolete components, or other manufacturing related issues

* PCBA design work including evaluation/characterization of existing designs, rework, board bring up, test, and SW integration

 

Qualifications

* 5+ years of experience as a systems, electrical, or product development engineer

* Demonstrated experience working hands-on with highly integrated electro-mechanical systems

* Knowledge of IEC-60601-1 design considerations and testing methodology

* Experience with EMC testing and troubleshooting

* Demonstrated ability to manage various projects and priorities simultaneously

* Experience working on systems with heavy software integration component

* Bachelor's degree in engineering

* Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills

 

Proprio offers its employees a generous range of compensation and benefits. 

* Salary Range: $110,000- $127,000: Our compensation philosophy is to bring people into new roles in the range of the mid-point of that role. Factors considered for pay include the level of skill, experience, training, external market factors, and internal equity.
